About us
Play Street Museum is an interactive, small-scale children’s museum in Highlands Ranch. Our exhibits are hands on, allowing children to learn through play.
There are so many learn-through-play opportunities for your kids, including:
- Our kid-sized Town Square, complete with kid-sized costumes, food, pets and vehicles
- Our huge train table that draws vehicle lovers
- Our magnetic ball track that can be arranged and rearranged
- Our themed Discovery Rug units, which change every 2 months.
Caregivers can either sit back while their kids play, or engage with them. It’s a relaxing, clean environment… and also small enough that kiddos can’t run off and get lost. We host Open Play by Reservation Monday – Friday, reserving weekends for birthday parties and special events. We also usually host an Open Play or two on the weekends, depending on how birthdays have booked up!
Parties
Interested in hosting a party with us? You can book weekend parties for any purpose: Back-to-School party, End of the Year party, religious holiday celebrations, adoption celebrations, ANYTHING you can think of ~ it doesn’t have to be a birthday party! We also offer Private Play Dates on weekdays and weekends… call us for more info, but basically it gives you private use of the museum for your kids (or group of kids). No food or decorations permitted during Private Play Dates.
You can find all the details here:
Not only do we have this great museum for kids to play in, but we offer great retail options as well! We have our own sensory kits and slime kits to continue the fun at home. We also offer Paint Your Own Pottery, which can be painted in store, or taken home and later returned to be fired in our kiln.
Meet the Owner

Hey! My name is Rachel! I have 3 kids ~ boy/girl twins who are 8, and a 5 year old boy. I love being outdoors here in Colorado, as long as I’m doing activities that aren’t TOO strenuous! I also love reading, visiting with friends, and most recently, floor hockey. I discovered Play Street Museum when my twins were 2 and I LOVED it! I’m a nurse by training (still working very part time), but doors kept opening for us to own our own museum. We moved to Highlands Ranch from North Texas 2 years ago to open it. Covid hit here 3 months after we opened, so it’s been extremely challenging, but I’m thrilled to still be open and to be seeing business improve.

Customer Reviews
“I can’t rave enough about this place!! So many fun stores/houses for imaginative play, a place for crafts/drawing/magnatiles, A corner with tons of Montessori style wooden toys, a ball run magnet wall, some crazy air tubes that shoot scarves out?! I mean, my 15 month old was in heaven (so was i). You have to make a reservation which made it so enjoyable and less crowded, and the pricing is super reasonable! And It was clean, clean CLEAN. sometimes you walk into kids gyms and you’re immediately bracing for an epic illness 3 days later. Not a worry of mine here! Plus, a complimentary snack for your kiddo when you leave. What more could you want? You’re doing everything right, play street!” – Shannon Rasmussen
“We had a birthday party for our 2 year old and it was INCREDIBLE. The kids had a wonderful time and the adults were able to chat. It was the easiest birthday party I have ever thrown and this kid is my youngest of 4! Highly recommend!” – Anne Rustemeyer
“The Play Museum is practically Disneyland for my little granddaughter. We’ve been twice, once at 18 months and once at 27 months. Both times it was so fun, but different. It was great to see her interact with all the offerings there (pretend offices and stores, slides, crafts, etc) differently. It will be fun to see that continue as she grows. And, bonus, it’s a far smaller investment to take a trip here for and hour than days at Disney!” – Vivian Shyu
“PSM hosted a joint 2 year old birthday party for us yesterday and it was PERFECT. Kids and adults all had a wonderful time. One of my favorite things about PSM is the size is great for kids to play and explore on their own, so adults were able to enjoy time together while still interacting with kids. Even we’ve visited many times for playdates during the week, there is something so special about using the space for a private party, something we’ve never done before. The staff was attentive while also being behind the scenes, even loading our cars with the party supplies while we were all still playing! They handled all clean up before/after the party, and if you want to make it ever easier, they can handle all decorations and set up with the cutest themes. Thank you Rachel for making it a special event, it has been a long year without gathering as a group and it was well worth it!!” – Katie Yarian
