Meet Janelle

Hi I am Janelle, I own The Mama Coach for Saskatoon and West-Central Saskatchewan. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 13 years, and have worked in various clinical settings. I am a Mama of 4, aged 11-3 years, and a wife to my favourite farmer.
I’ve always been passionate about working with babies and children. Private Practice with The Mama Coach has been the perfect fit for me to follow my dreams of working with Women and Children. As a Mom and a Registered Nurse, I feel that there is most definitely a need for extra support and education for parents. The Mama Coach is a team of Registered Nurses across Canada and the US who use evidence informed research, and a HUGE dose of empathy with each family that we work with. We are so much more than sleep!
All of our programs are based on science, empathy, support and no-judgement. As your Mama Coach I can provide Prenatal Classes, Breastfeeding Support, Newborn Support, Sleep Coaching, Allergy Navigation, and CPR & Choking workshops and certifications. I am thrilled to be able to provide these services to Saskatchewan families.

Lactation Services
Breastfeeding, Bottle feeding, Formula, a combination of both— It is a personal choice. I will provide real solutions and a ton of support without any judgement. If you are struggling with breastfeeding, whether your baby is 2 days old or 2 years old, I am committed to helping you. If you have any questions I am here for you. I also offer prenatal feeding support to help you come up with a plan for feeding, and work on antenatal hand expression.

Pregnancy Services
Imagine sitting on your couch, with the ability to ask anything you want without feeling uncomfortable in front of a large group. The private prenatal session will be approximately 3 hours and I will walk you through everything from the end of your pregnancy, when to go to the hospital, the birth, and bringing your baby home. You will leave the class feeling empowered, prepared and informed! I also offer group prenatal classes to give you some options.

More than Sleep
You tell me your sleep goals, and I will use my extensive knowledge on sleep science, feeding expertise, and assessment skills to ensure you meet your goals. Prior to our visit I will assess your goals, your baby’s health and feeding. The Sleep plan includes an in home or virtual visit where I will take a big look at feeding, development, weight gain and your child’s circadian rhythm to come up with a customized plan for you and your baby. There are a few options for ongoing support with these packages. We begin working on sleep at 3 months and can help your child who is 4+ as well.

CPR & Choking
I sincerely hope you never need to use CPR or have your baby choke, but having the knowledge of what to do and how to react can save your little one’s life and put your mind at ease. I am certified by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to provide the most up to date and evidence-based information for how to perform CPR and what to do if your child is choking. This workshop only takes a little over an hour, is hands on, and will leave you feeling prepared.

Allergy Support
At the Mama Coach we understand the fear and anxiety around food allergies and our services help educate and empower parents to gain control of their child’s allergies and feel more comfortable managing the. We do not diagnose allergies, nor do we offer treatment, but we do support parents on the journey to adapting and becoming comfortable dealing with food allergies. Whether you are breastfeeding or your child is older, there is support available.
